Nationals 5, Diamondbacks 4 (AP)


One thing the Washington Nationals do very well is beat the Arizona Diamondbacks. Gold Glove second baseman Orlando Hudson's two-base throwing error cleared the way for Nook Logan's RBI single in the eighth inning to give the Nationals a 5-4 victory over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday night. The Nationals franchise is 15-2 against Arizona since the start of the 2004 season, including 5-0 this season.

Arizona gives Gonzalez an emotional farewell (AP)


Luis Gonzalez had a surprise waiting for him when he pulled into the Chase Field players' parking lot Sunday morning. His parking space had a "For Rent" sign on it. That's how the ballpark grounds crew decided to welcome Gonzalez, an accomplished practical joker, on the last day of his eight-year run with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Padres 3, Diamondbacks 1 (AP)


The Padres are in the postseason for the second year in a row, thanks to David Wells' first victory since he was traded to San Diego a month ago. The 43-year-old left-hander, who missed his previous start with gout in his right foot, threw six scoreless innings and Mike Cameron hit a two-run homer to power San Diego past the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1 on Saturday.
